We are currently seeking a Transport Administrator to join the Central Transport team based at our head office in Bedford, MK44 3JZ. This is a full time, Monday to Friday, office based position. This role is pivotal in providing comprehensive administrative support to the Central Transport team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations while delivering high-quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. The salary for this position is £28,100 per annum.
Key Responsibilities:- Handle general correspondence and administration for the transport team, including suppliers and yards.
- Maintain and update central vehicle and plant records, ensuring accuracy across both paper and computerized filing systems.
- Manage incoming telephone inquiries and direct them accordingly.
- Raise and process purchase orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collate and order stationary supplies for the team as needed.
- Assist with various administrative duties to support the smooth operation of the department.
- Previous experience in an administrative role or similar automotive environment.
- Strong administrative skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and work flexibly.
- Full, clean driving license.
