Looking for a driving role that offers great earning potential and no bank holiday working? We're looking for HGV Drivers to join our team at our Peterlee Operation Centre. If you enjoy travelling and no two weeks being the same, our Roamer/Tramper role could be for you. Based from Peterlee, you'll travel to Copart Operation Centres across the UK, providing holiday cover and additional support during busy periods. You'll typically stay away from home 3-4 nights each week and receive generous additional allowances.

  • £3,000 annual Roamer allowance
  • £45 overnight allowance for every night away (£30 tax free)

What you'll be doing

As one of our Car Transporter Drivers, you'll play an important role in keeping the automotive industry moving. Every day is different as you collect, transport and deliver accident-damaged vehicles for some of the UK's leading insurers, fleet operators and automotive businesses. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Safely loading, transporting and unloading vehicles
  • Carrying out vehicle inspections and reporting any damage
  • Delivering excellent customer service at every collection and delivery
  • Operating safely while following all legal and company driving standards
  • Using handheld technology to manage your daily workload

This is an active role that involves physical work as well as driving.

What we're looking for

  • HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 (Cat C) licence
  • Current Driver CPC
  • Good understanding of Drivers' Hours and Working Time Regulations
  • Experience driving in both urban and rural environments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Confidence using handheld devices and basic IT systems
  • The ability to plan your day and adapt to changing priorities
  • Previous vehicle recovery or car transporter experience is beneficial, but not essential.
