We are currently recruiting for a Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver to join our team, working from our Operation Centre in Gloucester, GL2 2SF. Your home location will be Gloucester, but you will be required to travel to other operation centres to assist them with holiday cover and increased workload.

A Copart Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver collects and delivers predominantly accident damaged vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and conditions on our salvage transporters. The role can be physically demanding.

Responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out internal and external checks on trucks and equipment
  • Reporting any defects
  • Photographing any damage
  • Inspecting all collected and delivered vehicles

Drivers must comply with all legal and company requirements of a professional driver, operate vehicles and loading equipment safely and efficiently, and follow all H&S policies and procedures.

The role offers a salary of approximately £52,516 per annum, which includes a £3,000 Roamer allowance and an additional £45 per night (£30 tax‑free) overnight allowance.

Qualifications:

  • HGV/LGV Licence, Class 1
  • Current CPC licence
  • Good understanding of EC Driver Hours and Working Time regulations using a tachograph
  • Driving experience in both rural and urban environments
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Flexibility
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Confidence in the use of handheld devices and basic IT applications
  • Adaptability, including the ability to organise and adjust your working day
  • Car transportation or recovery experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
