Contribute to cutting-edge work while making a positive impact on the planet.Your Role: As a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, you'll ensure our fleet stays at peak performance, handling everything from engine and gearbox installations to diagnostics and maintenance. Your precision and attention to detail will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our fleet, all while ensuring the highest safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Install engines and gearboxes into fleet vehicles with precision and safety in mind. Conduct diagnostic checks and post-installation testing to guarantee optimal vehicle performance. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the fitting process, ensuring minimal downtime. Work closely with our Supply Chain and Fleet teams to ensure timely and efficient job completion. Keep detailed records of all work, including parts used and time spent on each task. Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure vehicles are running at their best. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment at all times. Communicate effectively with fleet customers, providing regular updates to ensure satisfaction. Mentor and support junior mechanics and apprentices, helping them develop their skills.Essential: Proven experience as a mechanic, with a strong focus on engine fitting and diagnostics. Relevant mechanical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent). Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics with ease. Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach. Ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and stay organised. A commitment to upholding the highest health and safety standards. A valid UK driving license.Desirable: Previous experience working with commercial fleet vehicles. Familiarity with recycled or second-hand vehicle parts.
