We are recruiting HGV Drivers to join our supportive network of professional drivers, covering our Sandwich Operation Centre and the surrounding area, based from CT13 9ND. You'll be working from Monday to Friday, with no nights out or bank holiday working, so you'll benefit from a great work-life balance and have more time to yourself.
A Copart Driver loads, collects and delivers predominantly accident damaged vehicles of all shapes, sizes and conditions on our salvage transporters and therefore the role can be physically demanding. We work on behalf of our insurance and automotive customers, to service agreements. They carry out internal and external checks on their trucks and equipment and report any defects, photograph any damage and carry out inspections of all collected and delivered vehicles. Copart Drivers must comply with legal and company requirements of a professional driver and operate the vehicle and loading equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following all H&S policies and procedures.
No transporter experience? No problem - we'll provide you with everything you need! You'll be supported through 3 weeks of the very best job related 1-2-1 training and benefit from our bespoke designed annual CPC training. If you have a Cat C licence, we are able to up-skill to C+E after successful completion of your probationary period. After training a reasonable salary expectation based on an average of 7 vehicle collections per day would be approx. Β£44,602pa.
What we need from you:
- HGV Licence Class 1 or 2
- Current CPC
- A good understanding of the EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations using a tachograph
- Driving experience in both rural and urban environments
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Confident in the use of handheld devices, with experience in the use of basic IT applications
- Adaptable, with the ability to organise and adjust your working day
- Car transportation or recovery experience would be an advantage, but isnβt essential
