Job Description

Copart UK Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Solicitor to join our expanding legal function. This is a key in-house role supporting a fast-paced, evolving business. You’ll provide daily legal guidance across the organisation, build strong internal relationships, and act as a proactive ambassador for the legal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting witness statements and legal documents for litigation
  • Representing Copart in County Court hearings (remote/in-person)
  • Managing legal claims including breach of contract, negligence, and misrepresentation
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory licensing
  • Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Handling data subject access requests and advising on data protection issues
  • Advising on legal and regulatory changes impacting the business
  • Producing internal legal documentation (NDAs, settlement agreements, etc.)
  • Supporting senior legal colleagues with reports and presentations for the CEO
  • Managing your own administrative tasks including emails, document management, and spreadsheets
  • Responding to legal queries from internal departments

Desirable Skills:

  • While a 4-year PQE is preferred, we are open to considering candidates with less PQE if they possess the right experience
  • Experience with data protection, including subject access requests
  • Previous in-house legal experience
  • Familiarity with implementing and following internal processes
