We are currently recruiting an HR Administrator/Advisor to work within our HR team, based at our Head Office in Wootton, Bedfordshire, MK43 9EJ. This is a full time office based position, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. If you’re an experienced HR administrator looking to build your expertise in employee relations and develop your career in this area, this is a fantastic opportunity to get hands-on experience and make a real impact.
This role will provide high-quality administrative support across core HR functions, with a particular focus on employee relations. You’ll play an important part in ensuring accuracy and compliance across processes such as onboarding, compliance requirements, and family leave, while helping to create a positive employee experience and smooth HR operations. They will work closely with the wider HR team and key stakeholders to help ensure the smooth running of daily HR operations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supporting HR Business Partners and the ER Partner with the administration of formal ER cases, including preparing investigation packs, drafting letters, and maintaining accurate case documentation.
- Drafting formal documentation including invitations to grievance and disciplinary hearings, and outcome letters.
- Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records of ER cases in line with company policies and GDPR regulations and preparing reports and summaries to monitor ER activity and outcomes.
- Supporting with low-level employee relations cases in collaboration with the HR Team.
- Updating the Employee Relations system with case activity and status changes.
- Attending employee relations seminars and training to stay informed on employment law and HR best practices.
- Requesting and following up on induction and probation booklets, as well as right-to-work documentation.
- Requesting and managing DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks for relevant new starters.
- Drafting and issuing overpayment letters in collaboration with Payroll and HRBPS.
- Ensuring payroll trackers are updated with any relevant changes or adjustments.
- The first point of contact for employee queries relating to maternity, paternity, and shared parental leave.
- Ensuring maternity risk assessments are completed and filed appropriately, and MATB1 forms are collected.
- Accurately recording maternity and paternity dates in relevant trackers and the HR system, ensuring entitlements are logged and communicated.
- Carrying out any ad hoc administration duties as required, to support the wider HR and ER team.
- Supporting continuous improvement of HR and ER administrative processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
What we need from you:
- To possess or be working towards a CIPD qualification.
- Proven experience in HR Employee Relations administration or a similar HR support role, ideally with exposure to employee relations casework.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, professional documentation.
- A good understanding of core HR processes and employment law legislation.
- Able to manage sensitive and confidential information with the highest level of discretion.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience using HR systems is desirable.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
