We are currently recruiting for a Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver to join our team, working from our Operation Centres in Chester CH5 2QZ / St Helens WA10 3DB.
Copart is the global leader in online vehicle remarketing and recycling, working in partnership with many of the world\’s leading insurance companies, banks, automotive dealers, fleet, and rental car companies.
Your home location will be either Chester / St Helens area, but you will be required to travel to other operation centres to assist them with holiday cover and increased workload. You will complete 3 to 4 overnights per week, for which you will receive an additional overnight allowance payment.
A Copart Roamer/Tramper HGV Driver, collects and delivers predominantly accident damaged vehicles of all shapes, sizes, and conditions on our salvage transporters and therefore the role can be physically demanding. We work on behalf of our insurance and automotive customers, to service agreements.They will carry out internal and external checks on their trucks and equipment and report any defects, photograph any damage, and carry out inspections of all collected and delivered vehicles.Copart Drivers must comply with legal and company requirements of a professional driver and operate the vehicle and loading equipment in a safe and efficient manner, following all H&S policies and procedures.
A reasonable salary expectation based on an average on 7 vehicle collections per day, would be approx. £48,082; plus additional allowances of £3,000 per year, and £45 per night (£30 of which is tax free) for each overnight stay.
What we need from you:
- It\’s essential that you possess an HGV/LGV Licence, Class 1
- Current CPC
- A good understanding of the EC Drivers Hours and Working Time regulations using a tachograph
- Driving experience in both rural and urban environments
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Flexibility
- Strong attention to detail
- Confident in the use of handheld devices, with experience in the use of basic IT applications
- Adaptable, with the ability to organise and adjust your working day
- Car transportation or recovery experience would be an advantage, but isn\’t essential
