We are currently recruiting an experienced Vehicle Depollution Operative (Engine Specialist) to join one of the UK’s leading Vehicle Recycling companies, based in Skelmersdale, WN8 9SU. The Green Parts Specialists are the UK's leading vehicle dismantling company, who are at the forefront of providing high-quality recycled car parts. Role Purpose: Responsible for safely dismantling vehicle engines to recover high-value components, maximising scrap and resale value while ensuring full compliance with environmental and health & safety standards.
The salary for this position is £27,976
Key Responsibilities:
- Strip engines efficiently to recover valuable parts (e.g. catalytic converters, turbos, injectors, alternators, wiring looms)
- Drain and handle engine fluids in line with environmental procedures
- Assess parts for reuse, refurbishment, or recycling
- Use tools and lifting equipment safely to dismantle engines
- Sort, label, and store components correctly
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Follow all health, safety, and site procedures
- Operate forklift truck where required
- Report faults, damage, or safety concerns
Skills & Experience:
- Experience in engine stripping or vehicle dismantling
- Strong mechanical knowledge of engines and components
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Understanding of depollution and ELV processes
- Knowledge of safe handling of oils and hazardous materials
- Health & safety awareness in industrial/automotive settings
- Detail-focused with a reliable, safety-first approach
