A senior compliance leadership role with a four-day working week, stepping into SMF16 and SMF17 responsibilities as part of a planned succession with a multi-family office in London.
Our client is an established, FCA-regulated family office looking after high and ultra-high-net-worth clients across the UK and beyond. With activity spanning multiple jurisdictions, the firm delivers a highly personal, relationship-led service built on a genuinely strong compliance culture. The team is lean and senior, so you'll have real visibility and influence right up to board level.
Key Responsibilities- Acting as the firm's senior compliance authority across all regulatory compliance and financial crime matters
- Serving as the lead contact for the FCA, regulatory bodies and government agencies
- Chairing the quarterly Risk Management Committee
- Maintaining and reviewing all compliance and financial crime policies, procedures and controls
- Owning the annual MLRO report, risk assessments and control frameworks
- Delivering compliance training to new and existing staff across the business
- Overseeing client due diligence, transaction monitoring and timely regulatory reporting
- Supporting the firm's operations across multiple international client jurisdictions
- Broad compliance and financial crime experience gained within a regulated financial services environment
- Background in private wealth management, asset management or a similarly client-facing regulated business
- Current or recent SMF16 and/or SMF17 holder, or a senior compliance lead operating at that level and ready for approval
- Strong command of FCA requirements and financial crime frameworks (AML, KYC, SAR reporting)
- Confident communicator at ease with board and senior management audiences
- The judgement and presence to take full ownership of a regulated function immediately
