Coopman Search are partnering exclusively with a fast-growing, UK-headquartered private markets firm who are at the forefront of ESG investing. As the business continues its impressive expansion, they are seeking their first dedicated Compliance hire. This high-impact role will work closely with, and report directly to, the General Counsel.
In this role you will work closely with outsourced regulatory partners, overseeing obligations across the UK, US, Luxembourg and Jersey, while also supporting ESG and climate-related compliance initiatives. This role suits someone with strong regulatory expertise, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-border environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Support global compliance oversight across the UK, US, Luxembourg and Jersey, including monitoring regulatory developments and coordinating required filings.
- Maintain and enhance compliance policies, conduct risk assessments and testing, and help implement internal controls.
- Provide day-to-day regulatory guidance to teams across multiple offices and deliver ongoing compliance training.
- Perform surveillance and monitoring of personal dealing, conduct policies, and broader compliance obligations.
- Assist with oversight of Luxembourg and Jersey fund structures and manage due diligence of third-party providers.
- Contribute to ESG and climate-related compliance, including SFDR/TCFD requirements and related data and disclosure processes.
- Maintain strong recordkeeping standards and support regulatory exams and information requests.
- 5+ years’ experience in compliance within venture capital, private equity or asset management.
- Strong knowledge of UK (FCA), US (SEC/CFTC), Luxembourg (CSSF), and Jersey (JFSC) regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with Luxembourg and Jersey fund structures (e.g., SIFs, RAIFs, SCSp, Jersey LPs).
- Proven experience designing and delivering compliance programs.
- Familiarity with ESG regulations and frameworks (SFDR, TCFD, EU Taxonomy).
- Experience working with or coordinating regulatory service providers.
