Job Description
Coopman Search & Selection are delighted to partner exclusively with a leading global Trading firm who are looking to hire a Legal Counsel into a newly created role. The company trade financial instruments across various asset classes, including equities, options, and futures.
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that the organization’s operations are conducted in compliance with legal requirements, company policies and ethical business practices. You will also act as a business partner, providing legal support and advising across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements, including commercial-, inter-company-, IT/IP-, and procurement agreements, as well as trading and technology related agreements
- Corporate housekeeping, including drafting corporate resolutions and UK Companies House and contract management filings
- Collaborating with and advising various departments, including Trading, Technology, Risk & Compliance, Finance, HR, and Procurement
- Monitoring developments and implementation of relevant new legislation
Experience Required:
- A minimum of 3 years experience at a Law Firm and/or In-house
- Demonstrable knowledge of and experience with Contract Law, and preferably with UK Corporate Law
- Motivated, proactive with a hands-on mentality and a strong sense of urgency
- Strong and confident communicator
- Ability to act independently and perform successfully in a fast paced, technology driven and at times high-pressured environment
