Our client is a London based, Real Estate Investment Manager, who we have partnered with as they look to bring in an experienced Compliance specialist on a contract basis to support the Head of Compliance in designing and embedding a highly effective compliance programme and framework across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess the current control environment across all key business processes (investment management, asset management, fund operations, finance, investor reporting, etc.).
- Design and document an enhanced Controls Framework that aligns with regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, AIFMD) and industry best practice.
- Work closely with business leaders to map processes, identify control points, and ensure appropriate ownership and accountability.
- Draft and implement control standards, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure the framework supports the broader enterprise risk management program.
- Support the business in preparing for internal audits, regulatory reviews, and due diligence by investors.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation where appropriate.
Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 3+ years experience in building and embedding controls frameworks within asset management, real estate investment, or broader financial services.
- Strong understanding of the operational and compliance risks faced by a fund manager.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FCA Handbook, AIFMD, SEC rules) and best practice frameworks (COSO, ISO31000, etc.).
- Track record of delivering practical, fit-for-purpose solutions in a dynamic, commercial environment.
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
This contract is expected to last between 3-6 months and would be paying £350-500 per day, inside IR35.
