Job summary – What to expect: This role is 50% admin using computers; 50% manual work (driving lorries, forklifts and vans, dealing with materials, lifting, manual handling, etc.). As the Warehouse Operator in our Manufacturing Department, you will maintain the day-to-day operation of the Raw Materials Warehouse across Hamble and Chandler’s Ford, ensuring receiving, storage maintenance and issue of inventory in line with SOPs and WIs.
Responsibilities
- Operating fork-lift trucks within a warehouse and yard environment
- Driving company vehicles between sites
- Working on the computer undertaking admin-based tasks using bespoke systems
- Addressing and resolving issues to maintain operational workflow and stock accuracy
- Labeling materials
- Providing a secure point of delivery for courier drop-offs
- Driving company vehicles on and between CV UKM sites
- Receiving, labeling and putting away materials
- Picking and issuing materials
- Participating in inventory cycle counting activities
- Operating IT-based systems including Oracle, CVM SAMM, ServiceNow, printers, Agile and MS Office
- Working to KSI targets and other KPI metrics
What skills and experience should you have?
We are looking for someone who has experience working in a warehouse environment, has a full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK. Must be comfortable spending a significant amount of time on computer-based inventory admin tasks.
Experience & Education
- A full, clean driving license
- Good working knowledge of warehouse procedures
- Materials Handling Equipment License: forklift trucks, pallet stacker and attachments (or ability to obtain)
- Strong communication skills
- Problem solving skills
Work Environment
- Combination of indoor and outdoor warehouse work, including cold stores, yards and drop-off/collection points across Hamble and Chandler’s Ford
- Driving company delivery vehicles and operating manual handling equipment with safe technique
- Designated safety PPE must be worn
