To provide a range of Engineering Support and Maintenance services across the Packaging and Distribution sites.

Predominantly the role is for equipment/Process support in order to ensure that all equipment is maintained effectively and all breakdowns and repairs are carried out efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Respond to maintenance requests, diagnose issues, implement repairs where possible, and determine the most effective resolution, prioritising work in line with operational and production needs.
  • Accurately record repairs, modifications, and maintenance activities using established procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal engineers or external contractors to ensure timely resolution of equipment breakdowns.
  • Source and procure non-stock replacement parts, confirming specification, availability, and prompt delivery.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities via the CVM system, ensuring equipment is tested, documented, and labelled with maintenance status and next due date.
  • Carry out routine building and facilities maintenance, including fire and sprinkler systems, lighting, heating, air conditioning, and emergency housekeeping tasks across office and production environments.
  • Train operators in basic maintenance and line set-up activities, promoting safe and efficient working practices.
  • Maintain technical expertise through ongoing specialist and vendor-provided training, acting as a primary technical contact for process and ancillary equipment.
  • Monitor production activities to ensure safety guards, interlocks, and fixtures are correctly installed and functioning.
  • Provide specialist engineering support to project and production teams during design, build, testing, commissioning, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Identify and elevate equipment-related health, safety, product quality, or personnel risks, advising managers and team leaders as required.
  • Support facilities management activities, including contractor coordination and site-wide maintenance requirements across Packaging and Distribution sites.
  • Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Work across all site areas, wearing appropriate PPE, including facemasks and gloves where required.
  • Handle materials governed by COSHH regulations.
  • Perform tasks involving ladder work, confined spaces, kneeling, bending, and other physical activities associated with maintenance operations.
  • Hazardous Working Conditions
  • Work with hydraulic systems involving significant mechanical energy hazards.
  • Conduct live electrical testing, in accordance with electrical safety policies, on systems up to lethal voltages, using appropriate PPE and safe working practices.
  • Handle hazardous substances in compliance with COSHH requirements.
