Job Overview

QA Technician – Part Time
Location: Hamble, UK
Contract: Part‑time, 7am to 7pm, 2 days on / 6 off (Day 3 and 4)
Shift: Green

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure and inspect lenses in line with the Quality Management System.
  • Record true and accurate data for lenses measured, using electronic systems (CVM), Microsoft Excel or controlled paperwork.
  • Audit Lot History Records to confirm traceability of required actions and personnel.
  • Verify sterilisation charts to ensure all critical parameters have been achieved before lot release.
  • Release product on the electronic system (CVM) if all lot testing and auditing meet set requirements.
  • Raise NCRs when required, if lots fail to follow standard procedural or sample plan requirements.
  • Support routine and non‑routine lens measuring activities in UK Manufacturing, including investigations/complaints/validation/shelf life.
  • Store quality records and retention samples correctly for timely retrieval.
  • Support the management, storage, archive and retrieval of quality records.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Line Manager and QA Management.

Essential Functions & Functionalities

  • Measurement of lenses in line with the Quality Management System.
  • Recording true and accurate data for the lenses measured.
  • Verification and releasing of Sterilisation charts – Ensuring critical parameters have been met.
  • Auditing of Lot History Record to ensure traceability of required actions and personnel.
  • Authority to Release product on the electronic system (CVM) if all lot testing and auditing meet the set requirements.
  • The ability to Raise NCR’s when required, if lots fail to follow standard procedural or sample plan requirements.
  • Support the requirement of both routine and non‑routine lens measuring activities in UK Manufacturing if required (Investigations/Complaints/Validation/Shelf Life).
  • Store quality records and retention samples correctly to enable timely retrieval if required.
  • Support the management, storage, archive and retrieval of Quality Records.
  • Other duties as directed by Line Manager and the QA Management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Two years of contact lens or process knowledge in QA and/or manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of use of Word/Excel/Agile/CVM.
  • Possess a reasonable understanding of QA and the purpose of the role.
  • Ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
  • Adaptable and self‑starter.
  • Good communicator.
  • Quickness of comprehension.
