Job summary – What to expect:

Working within Global Supply Chain, the Project Manager will be responsible for the management, planning, implementation, and tracking of multi-site / multi-function projects collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing stakeholders at all levels, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will demonstrate a proven track record of successfully managing projects, strong leadership skills, and excellent organizational abilities.

As a medical device manufacturer CooperVision operates in highly regulated environment where the Project Manager will ensure project delivery in line with all applicable regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

  • Project Leadership: Provide project leadership throughout the duration of the project lifecycle, supporting, and influencing the project team, stakeholders and steering committees as required.
  • Business Acumen: Have at minimum, a basic understanding of financial, strategic, and operational aspects of the business to support sound decision making and drive successful outcomes for the organization.
  • Project Planning and Management: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Project Governance: Follow the GSC Project methodology and frameworks, championing this process with the project team, stakeholders, and sponsors.
  • Team Coordination: Establish, lead, and motivate cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Resource Allocation: Identify, secure, and allocate necessary resources and manage project budgets.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines and deliverables, escalating to leadership teams as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle, conducting regular reviews and assessments to ensure project goals and business objectives are met.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work with Regulatory and Quality partners to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as local and global standards and regulations.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on project status, addressing concerns, and managing expectations.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor project progress using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement lessons learned and best practices from previous projects to improve processes and performance.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10% of international travel (up to 6 trips per year)

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • A good understanding of Project Management best practice (PMI / APM).
  • Experience of leading geographically dispersed, diverse, multicultural project teams.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • A good level of business acumen.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative, and heavily matrixed organization.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for medical devices including UDI, MDR, etc.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems.

Work Environment

  • Normal office environment.
  • Ability to perform light to medium physical work and standing for long periods of time, if required depending on the task.
  • Extensive contact with employees and external business partners and vendors.

Experience

  • Requires 2 + years’ experience in projects.
  • Working in the medical device industry or a heavily regulated industry strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in Supply Chain related roles.
  • Experience with product labelling and regulatory requirements for medical devices.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in relevant field, or 5+ years’ experience in a project management role or similar required.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

US Applications

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting base pay for this role is between $83,167.00 – $110,889.00 and may include cost of living adjustments. The actual base pay includes many factors and is subject to change and modification in the future. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation and benefits.
