Job summary – What to expect:
As Legal Counsel you’ll be supporting and advising on global commercial activities and projects to assist and enable sales and marketing activities to drive revenue and growth whilst ensuring legal compliance and managing risks.
The role will work closely with the legal and commercial teams across Europe and the rest of the world.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Act as a business partner for CooperVision’s global sales and marketing teams, managing key stakeholder relationships and providing legal advice and support with a commercial focus.
- Review, draft, negotiate, manage and conclude a wide range of commercial agreements; advise on and identify legal and commercial risks and issues; ensure legal documentation as required to meet business / legal needs in line with CooperVision’s contracting policies and approval processes.
- Provide legal support for CooperVision’s strategic business priorities and initiatives (projects, transactions, ESG, product lifecycle management, marketing, promotions and brand management activities ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and CooperVision policies.
- Act as the lead for legal support for Global Marketing matters, including review and approval of global marketing claims and promotional materials.
- Support Global Legal projects, co-ordinating with commercial teams and legal colleagues across CooperVision.
- Create and standardise global templates and best practice, and support with associated training, implementation and embedding globally.
- Support of global risk and compliance policies, initiatives and activities.
- Proactively partner and work with other CooperVision and The Cooper Companies, Inc lawyers to drive alignment with global best practices and action knowledge sharing.

About you:
You’ll be a fully qualified, experienced UK commercial lawyer, with 2 years PQE working within a large law firm or an in-house lawyer role.
You’ll have a broad base of generalist commercial experience, ideally working with marketing and sales teams, and have operated within an international environment within a large matrix organisation.
An excellent communicator, strong problem solver and someone with a high level of attention to detail are all areas of importance.
Given this role is working at a global level, there is a need for this person to be flexible when it comes to time zones and coordinating with others around the world.
