Location: Fareham, Hampshire (occasional travel to Mount Park in Southampton)
Working Hours: Double Day B Shift, Mon – Fri, 1 week (6am–2pm), following week (2pm-10pm), 37.5 hours per week
Scope: Developing and implementing quality assurance policies, conducting tests and inspections, identifying production, process, or product issues, and presenting solutions.
Job Summary: To work as part of a team monitoring all areas of the Company's Quality System to ensure staff are working according to documented procedures and requirements as well as Continuous Improvement and implementation of existing or new procedures, processes or systems.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Perform Process Audits in packaging and distribution environments, checking compliance to documented procedures, correct documentation, and unauthorized changes or deviations.
- Undertake assessments with the QA Coordinator/Team Leader to understand critical activities and identify potential problem areas.
- Record QA findings/observations and make recommendations to appropriate personnel/QA management.
- Release and final acceptance of product.
- Perform trend analysis using Agile and data sets.
- Handle customer complaints and conduct root cause analysis.
- Assist in validation of new products, processes and components.
- Coordinate quality issues with cross‑functional teams.
- Lead or participate in multi‑discipline teams on quality projects or investigations.
- Manage complex shipment reports within the Lot Blocking Process in the eQMS.
Travel Requirements: Flexibility to travel and work at either UK Packaging operations site or Delta Park Distribution site at short notice (no more than 20% of time, up to 10 weeks per year).
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understanding of Quality Assurance.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Agile.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook).
- Report writing skills.
- Good interpersonal and written communication skills to communicate effectively across levels and departments.
- Enquiring, methodical and organized approach.
Work Environment: Distribution centre environment. Shift‑based activity with required flexibility. Flexibility of location across company sites. Adherence to health and safety regulations. Use of computer systems. Full UK driving licence desirable.
Experience: At least two years of quality assurance experience and/or two years of experience in the contact lens industry (manufacturing or distribution centre).
Education: Grade A–C GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths.
