The EMEA Assistant Accountant, reporting into the EMEA Financial Accounting Manager (Commercial), will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of the monthly financial reporting for specific entities in the SSC. They will also work closely with transactional accounting teams. This role will assist the financial reporting as well as internal and external audits and will provide general accounting support.

Responsibilities:
  • Support an efficient, accurate and timely Financial Reporting close process for the designated commercial or operations entities in EMEA.
  • Assist the Financial Accounting Manager to ensure the financial reporting submissions and deliverables meet expectations of the designated entities.
  • Support accurate reporting and guidance around certain accounting topics (entity specific) like Revenue Recognition, Sales & Marketing incentives and Intercompany.
  • Assist with the completion of month end reporting (in accordance with US GAAP) to include the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and providing commentary on variances.
  • Support the Financial Accounting Manager and other colleagues with a view to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the end-to-end processes.
  • Provide assistance to the FP&A function in building out legal entity budgets and forecasts for the designated entities and provide relevant data for the preparation of cashflow forecasts.
  • Develop working relationship with Internal and External Audit to support and facilitate SoX quarterly reviews, and year-end audits, and ensuring the documentation of financial processes are reviewed on an agreed periodic basis.
  • Support the Financial Accountant or other team members in discussions for e.g. the Global ERP Program, with focus on the Record-To-Report process.
  • Maintain active working relationship with the CVI Transactional AP team (incl T&E expenses) and CVI Fixed Asset and Leasing Finance team to collaborate and ensure the seamless performance of activities carried out for CSI.
Experience:
  • 2+ years’ experience in an accounts assistant or equivalent role with responsibility for account reconciliations.
  • Working in a dynamic financial or accounts environment within a large multinational company or Shared Service environment is beneficial but not essential.
Education and Skills:
  • Commenced or an interest in professional qualification studies (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and ERPs (including Excel, Word, Navision, Dynamics 365 and HFM).
  • Self-starter with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to think creatively and independently.
  • Strong numeracy and verbal / written communication skills.
  • Able to participate in a multi-cultural, multi-linguist operating environment.
  • Strong team player who can effectively support their colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Able to work in a high pressure, high volume environment.
  • Proven experience in prioritizing workload and delivering to tight deadlines, particularly around month-end.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office including but not limited to pivot tables and lookup functionality in Excel.
