As the Level 3 Operator in Distribution, this position is a combination of training and operator responsibilities. As an Operator, you will carry out a high variety of tasks of moderate to high complexity autonomously and act as an expert and reference for the plant. You will also act as a back-up to the Team Leaders if needed. The Level 3 Operator will be a designated trainer for their area of expertise, responsible for monitoring compliance and cooperating with the Training Coordinator to ensure good standard of training is delivered.

Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
  • The Operator works in all areas of the plant with full autonomy.
  • The Operator manages the most complex tasks and masters the vast majority of processes in accordance with company procedures & work instructions.
  • They will support Team Leader and Senior Operator when Team Leader is on Holiday or LOA, and will understand the various key departmental business priorities.
  • They troubleshoot process issues using ERP/WMS/WCS and Tableau.
  • As a site key user, plays an active role in training, documenting the training with the local trainer coordinating and guiding more junior staff in process execution.
  • Perform training of operators in their area of expertise using competency training packs and ensure all training updates are relayed to relevant operators in a timely manner.
  • The operator acts as a reference in health and safety regulations within the team and the environment, ensuring safe practice regarding use of equipment and general good housekeeping.
  • Operator masters the use of company systems and acts as a reference to addressing system issues or answering questions.
  • The operator actively promotes continuous improvement initiatives and projects and plays an active role in promoting continuous improvement.
  • The operator investigates and responds to the most complex issues with a high level of competence and autonomy to ensure minimum disruption and maximum service levels.
  • Act as a back-up of the Team Leader in case needed.
Work Environment:
  • The post holder’s working environment is a large open plan warehouse / factory building.
  • All necessary personal protective equipment must be worn along with the use of the correct manual handling equipment and operating techniques.
  • Some lifting; majority of products are transported throughout the building on movable cages which can be heavy.
  • Lifting up to approx. 15 kg.
  • There may be some working at heights required.
  • There is constant background noise from the operation of various machinery.
  • Temperatures in the warehouse fluctuate due to seasonal variations.
  • Periods of prolonged standing.

We are looking for someone who has current experience within Distribution and has experience in the majority of processes in all areas.

Experience & Education:
  • The Operator manages the most complex tasks, masters the majority of processes in all areas.
  • Can act as a key user.
  • Understands the fundamentals of Continuous Improvement.
  • Can role-model CVI values for other Operators.
  • Good Standard of English and Maths.
