Job Summary
This role will manage and develop how we communicate across the comms channels of trade media (print & online), social media and digital. The individual will shape an annual plan aligned to product/brand and professional affairs activity calendar to execute the delivery of content. Ownership and management of our events processes, assets and toolkits to ensure full commercial team are delivering “best in class” at all event opportunities.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities
- Responsible for trade press coverage.
- Required to identify unique opportunities and manage budget to ensure the most effective B2B activity is delivered in our trade press channels.
- Review effectiveness of trade press campaigns and report back to SMT (Senior Marketing Team).
- Manage PR agency and delivery of required activity. Create annual PR plan alongside Product Marketing Manager.
- Responsible for cascade of regional and global press releases through PR agency. Ensuring alignment with market message and adherence to local approval process in support of wider product/brand team.
- Lead on all social media activity in UK&I. Manage agency to ensure release of required, relevant content across Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook to a B2B audience.
- Creation of social media plan and calendar based on brand marketing plan - close alignment with product/brand marketing colleagues and DofM&PA.
- Identify B2C opportunities for our brands in a social media environment and look to execute efficiently. With focus on Myopia Management category.
- Responsible for events process across full commercial team including available resources and assets and ownership of “Events Guidelines” alongside Marketing Operations Specialist.
- Project management execution of national conferences (100% Optical, BCLA and Optometry Tomorrow) in support of Product Marketing Manager and alongside Marketing Operations Specialist.
Travel Requirements
Primarily domestic travel estimated at 2% of total time. Sales meetings/ Industry and customer events (potential for weekends).
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Ability to confidently communicate and deliver information to a wider audience.
- Process driven individual with the ability to prioritise and manage workload.
- An intuitive and inquisitive marketing mind, able to seek out and identify best-practice and adapt it to create step-change in business performance.
- Fast learner with the flexibility to work across multiple projects/work streams.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to influence peers and senior teams.
- Good working understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel experience an advantage.
Experience And Education
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a digital/social media/comms role.
- Experience in planning and execution of a social media plans across multiple platforms, B2B and B2C.
- Experience of execution of (trade) media activity across a variety of channels.
- Project management exposure and demonstration of events management (preferred).
- Agency management experience is required.
