At CooperSurgical we are currently looking to recruit an Equipment Technical Trainer for our technical training centre in the UK. You will be part of a small dynamic international product training and development team, and report to the Global Equipment Training Manager. This position is in Crawley, UK, and all candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
As an Equipment Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for delivering technical equipment training (Installation, Servicing & Repair) using a variety of learning methodologies. You’ll have a strong technical background—ideally with experience in IVF or medical device equipment—and a passion for empowering others through effective training. You are confident using blended learning techniques and skilled at adapting your delivery to suit different audiences. With excellent communication and facilitation skills, you’ll collaborate across departments and cultures to ensure a world-class training experience for our Field Service Engineers and distributors. You bring a process-oriented, methodical approach to your work, with a high attention to detail—yet you’re also adaptable, creative, and able to think on your feet to overcome challenges. You thrive in a dynamic international environment and are committed to continuous improvement. This role is primarily based on-site in Crawley, with some international travel required.
Your key responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality technical training—both in-person and online—covering installation, servicing, and repair of fertility-related medical equipment.
- Maintain and assist in developing training materials, including e-learning content, handouts, assessments, and hands-on exercises.
- Use existing systems to manage, track, assess and report training.
- Adapt training delivery to suit varying technical backgrounds, learning styles, and language proficiencies.
- Manage learner development, providing constructive assessments and feedback to support and ensure skill progression.
- Maintain training equipment and environments to ensure readiness and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product Management, R&D, and Support teams to stay aligned with product updates and relay insights from training sessions.
- Bring a meticulous, process-driven approach to training—while remaining flexible and creative in solving problems, adapting to unexpected challenges, and continuously improving delivery.
- Travel internationally as needed to deliver on-site training, while primarily based at our Crawley training centre.
Qualifications:
- Experience in delivering hands-on and in-person training or instruction.
- Strong technical background—preferably in electronics, mechanical, or biomedical engineering.
- Training qualification (e.g., Train the Trainer, CIPD, or equivalent) would be an advantage.
- Proven track record of working with e-learning platforms and blended learning.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both in-person and online.
- A collaborative team player who is energetic, resourceful, and responsible.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is essential.
- Ability to adapt to diverse learners and work across cultures.
