Scope: Logistics Operator working within the Cooper Surgical Falmouth facility.
Job Summary: This role is responsible for the efficient processing of inventory transactions, picking of raw material for production and goods out transactions. This role will be a productive member of the wider logistics team, as such should be competent in all functional areas and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Health and Safety is the primary focus and is maintained, reporting any near miss or accidents to the Logistics Team Leader and H&S Officer.
- Collaborate with other departments within the Falmouth sites, for example, production planning, production areas and quality to ensure the smooth flow of production activities.
- Assist with project activities as required, such as process improvements with the aim of reducing costs and reducing issues.
- The role is accountable to the Logistics Team Leader.
- Daily management of goods in, stock transactions, cycle counting, dispatch activities and escalating any issues to the logistics Team Leader.
- Assist in the transportation of stock between sites for incoming and outgoing goods plus the relocation of goods within stockrooms.
- Pick components for production work orders and deliver them to the relevant manufacturing areas ensuring the pick is done accurately and on time.
- Maintain stock accuracy within stock locations.
- Assist with regular internal stock taking, including re‑counts and adjustments.
- Ensure all transactions are conducted in a timely manner in accordance with business procedures.
- Adapting to change within schedules and work activities as required.
- Maintain all paper records scanning and storing in a timely manner.

Travel: This role is site based, travel may be required but will be minimal and agreed between the employee and their manager.
Qualifications:
- Good knowledge and experience of a manufacturing / warehouse environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good computer literacy skills – experience in Microsoft Office based applications and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and requirements.
- Clean UK Driving license required.
- Forklift Truck license preferable.
- Proficient in English.
Work Environment: The work environment is a clean, air‑conditioned environment. Work cells are ergonomically assessed with sit/stand workstations. All PPE, tools and storage are provided. Food may not be consumed in a manufacturing area and drinks only consumed from lidded vessels. It is expected that the operator will control the 5S of their own work areas, ensuring all tools and equipment provided are maintained and stored correctly. The workstation will have a computer with access to the relevant software to assist the warehouse operator in their role. Occasionally lift up to 20 Kilograms in accordance with risk assessments and safe lifting practices. Controlled and risk assessed exposure to small quantities of process chemicals, such as Loctite and Araldite type adhesives, silicone sealants, heat compounds and lubricants.
Experience: UK right to work regulations apply. Demonstratable and proven experience in warehousing and logistics.
Education: Good secondary school education with GCSE qualifications in Math’s and Science based subjects preferred. Warehouse and logistics specific. Eagerness to attend training courses as required.
