As a Firestopping Project Manager at Coopers Fire, you will manage the delivery of passive fire protection and firestopping projects across a variety of construction sites. You will ensure all works meet fire safety regulations, manufacturer requirements, and third‑party accreditation standards. The role requires technical expertise in firestopping solutions, strong project management capability, and the confidence to manage pricing, quoting, and commercial control. You will oversee projects from initial survey and quotation through to installation, certification, and final handover.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Project Leadership: Manage end‑to‑end delivery of firestopping projects from initiation through to completion. Lead site teams and firestopping installers to deliver compliant, safe and timely installations.
- Technical & Compliance Management: Review fire strategy drawings, specifications, and technical data to determine required firestopping systems. Ensure all installations comply with test evidence, FIRAS/third‑party accreditation, and Building Regulations. Oversee completion of technical documentation, installation records, and compliance evidence.
- Pricing & Quotation: Conduct pre‑start site surveys to assess firestopping requirements and scope of works. Prepare accurate quotations, costings, and proposals based on drawings, site information, and material requirements. Work with the Commercial team to ensure pricing aligns with internal margin objectives and project budgets. Identify variations and re‑measure works on site, issuing updated quotations or change orders where required. Maintain accurate cost records to support invoicing and financial reporting.
- Planning & Delivery: Develop project schedules, labour plans, and material requirements. Coordinate surveys, site inspections, deliveries, and work sequencing with main contractors and clients. Manage scope changes, technical queries, and programme adjustments.
- Stakeholder & Client Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, main contractors, and site teams. Provide regular updates on progress, risks, financial status, and programme achievements. Build strong relationships to support repeat business and customer satisfaction.
- Risk, Safety & Quality Assurance: Ensure all project activities comply with Health & Safety regulations and company RAMS. Conduct regular site audits, toolbox talks, and quality inspections. Address non‑conformities promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Financial & Commercial Oversight: Manage project budgets from the quotation stage through to final account. Track labour, materials, and subcontractor costs to protect project margin. Forecast financial performance and maintain accurate accrued revenue figures in cooperation with the Commercial team.
- Reporting & Documentation: Provide weekly progress and financial reports, including KPIs and milestone updates. Maintain complete and accurate technical records for certification and client handover.
- Team Support & Continuous Improvement: Support and guide installation teams, junior PMs, and colleagues involved in firestopping delivery. Contribute to ongoing improvement of firestopping processes, installation standards, and compliance systems.
- Proven experience managing firestopping or passive fire protection projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of penetration sealing, linear gaps, cavity barriers, and compartmentation.
- Experience in preparing quotations, costings, and commercial proposals.
- Construction project management experience.
- SMSTS qualification and CSCS Manager/Supervisor Card.
- Strong organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in live construction environments.
- FIRAS or BM TRADA accreditation or experience working within accredited schemes.
- IOSH / NEBOSH qualification.
- Experience with fire doors, fire curtains, or related fire safety systems.
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors.
