Job summary – What to expect:
- You will provide additional resource and support to the Indirect team within the Tax & Treasury Team in supporting Cooper Companies in EMEA with all aspects of indirect tax compliance and advisory.
- The role will require regular interaction with key internal departments including Finance, Customs Team, Supply Chain, Customer Services, Legal as well as external Accountants and professional advisors.
- Assist with preparing and submitting VAT/GST reporting for all relevant indirect tax filings in the EMEA markets for CV and CS entities (including the groups international entities with registrations in any markets covered).
- This includes responsibility for preparing data for returns as well as liaising with third party advisors and dealing with their queries.
- Preparation of reconciliations and review of nominal ledgers relating to indirect tax accounts.
- Arranging payment of indirect taxes.
- Review of AP/AR invoice to ensure correct taxability – liaison with AP/AR department for queries and to respond to any adhoc queries.
- Working within Tax & Treasury tax team to raise awareness of VAT issues, provide guidance on invoicing and the review of VAT accounting entries and ledgers.
- Assisting with maintaining a schedule of indirect tax touchpoints in each jurisdiction and monitoring the impact of any changes.
- Maintain and develop indirect tax technical knowledge.
- To perform any other duties as required.
About you:
- Ideally, working knowledge of indirect tax (albeit support/training will be provided).
- Ability to plan and prioritise work and meet deadlines.
- Experience of working in or with international organisations would be an advantage.
- Desire to (further) develop expertise within indirect matters in an in-house environment.
- A high level of numerical, analytical, and reasoning ability.
- Good knowledge of Excel (vlookups, pivot tables) and experience of using a financial system such as Oracle/Navision will be an advantage.
- 3+ years in a finance related role.
- VAT experience is desirable but a willingness to learn a new technical area to build upon current finance knowledge would be considered.
