At CooperSurgical (CSI) we are currently looking to recruit a R&D Electronics Engineer to our team in Falmouth UK. You will be part of a team of experienced R&D engineers leading, designing and testing our medical device products developed on site and across the Global R&D team. In this role you will be responsible for sustaining engineering activities on our range of fertility equipment, new product development and upgrades of current and new products. The role reports directly to the R&D Director Product Engineering located in Falmouth, Cornwall United Kingdom.

In the role as R&D Electronic Engineer you will be responsible for our electro-mechanical connected systems and devices associated with In-vitro fertilization (IVF) and Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). You will also have an opportunity to contribute to product development and sustaining engineering activities associated with surgical devices, instruments, and disposables in broader women’s health field including Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN). You will be contributing to various engineering projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement solutions. You will play an essential role in ensuring the successful execution of engineering tasks and projects to tight time scales and ensuring functional and non-functional requirements are met. You thrive in a dynamic and challenging environment. You will work closely with teammates and stakeholders in the wider organization. The position of R&D Electronics Engineer is vital for the success and growth of the CooperSurgical company.
Your key responsibilities:
- Develop and design electrical systems.
- Drive successful verification and validation testing.
- Ensure 60601 EMC and Safety requirements.
- Demonstrate functional feasibility of technical solutions.
- Communicate key technical content to stakeholders.
- Generate and maintain required Medical Device documentation.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of risk management files.
Qualifications:
- BSc / BEng in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or combination of related fields.
- ≥ 2 years of experience from a similar role, preferable medical device production.
- Expertise in analog and digital circuit design and layout using tools like Altium Schematic Capture.
- Strong background in hardware/software integration and hardware debugging using appropriate tools and lab instruments.
- Hands-on craft skills and experience with building circuits, soldering, fixing, servicing and/or fabricating concepts, fixtures, and prototypes.
- Strong protocol and report writing skills.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
- Fluent English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
