About the role... Due to the continued explosive growth of our Deals function across the UK we are looking for a brilliant Corporate Finance Associate Director to join our team. You’ll be an Associate Director with strong mid-market experience and knowledge of the Deals market – a proven self-starter and fantastic client liaison, with a hunger to develop and grow business. We’re flexible on sector experience, and you could have some existing CF experience or strong transaction services experience that could transfer to corporate finance.
Responsibilities
- Client and Project Management: build a strong relationship with key individuals in the client and lead the project on a day-to-day basis, identify and resolve or bring in partner support on key issues arising. Manage junior colleagues’ workstreams, ensuring project deadlines are met and high-quality outputs are delivered.
- Business Development: assist in qualifying potential targets, aligned with sector and sub-sector strategies. Develop a network of target businesses and in the local business community which can help create work-winning opportunities in the future.
- Market Research: conduct research into clients, prospects, private equity firms, and acquisition targets to identify new opportunities.
- Network Expansion: expand internal and external networks, gaining exposure to buy-side mandates, management advisory roles, private equity, and target meetings.
- Transaction Documents: lead the design, develop and review the preparation of key transaction documents, including information memorandums, exit strategy papers and financial models.
- Financial Analysis: oversee financial analysis, ensuring accurate EBITDA assessments, valuations, and increasing involvement in complex areas of documentation critical to business positioning.
- Business Insights: take ownership of detailed business insights that contribute to negotiations and legal processes, supporting effective transaction execution.
- Workstream Delegation: delegate and oversee key transaction workstreams, including data room management, due diligence responses, buyer research, and pitch pack production.
- Update Meetings: lead weekly update meetings, tracking progress and ensuring timely follow-up on critical project action items.
- Mentorship: mentor and develop junior colleagues, providing technical guidance and supporting their professional growth, including delivering training sessions.
- Team Collaboration: act as a bridge between junior and senior team members, facilitating smooth collaboration and knowledge transfer.
- Performance Feedback: provide regular performance feedback and support line management responsibilities.
- Process Improvement: contribute to the development of new methodologies, best practices, and process improvements to enhance the firm’s capabilities.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant or similar qualification.
- Proven experience in corporate finance, with a strong track record in business development and transaction management.
- Desire to build networks and relationships with clients, targets and the business community.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to conduct detailed financial analysis and valuations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
