Cooper Parry (formerly Hutcheon Mearns) are expanding our Interim Finance Team known as Interim Specialists, and as a result, we are on the lookout for a new Senior Manager or Director to lead our Central Belt Team. This is a very exciting time to be joining us, as we continue to scale at pace across Scotland and this role will be integral to continuing our ambitious growth plans across Edinburgh & Glasgow.
Summary of the Role
Reporting in to our Head of Interim Specialists, the onus of this role is to drive the strategic direction of our Interim Specialist team in the Edinburgh market. This role would have two main focuses: development and management of the Specialist team in the Central Belt and liaison with clients and prospects to ensure effective and profitable relationships. Our Specialist team are practice trained and industry qualified accountants who support companies with interim finance cover and finance project support.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial responsibility for the Central Belt Interim Specialist division including: preparation of Budgets, analysis of budget vs actual performance, establishing Specialist rates and negotiating these with clients and maintaining strong utilisation levels for the wider team.
- Undertaking targeted business development to build relationships with companies for both Specialists and the wider Cooper Parry service lines.
- Undertaking client proposals, contracting, fee discussions, management of client services and maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication.
- Assessing client onboarding including KYC to ensure client work can proceed without unnecessary risk.
- Ensuring effective cash flow through timely invoicing approval and credit control management.
- Supporting the Central Belt Interim Specialist team as required: assignment planning, technical support, holiday approval, training & development and appraisal management.
- Driving the growth of the team through identifying suitable new team members, interviewing, negotiating packages and arranging offer and recruitment via HR.
- Working with HR to oversee any changes to contractual arrangements.
Personal Profile
- Ideally a Qualified Accountant holding a CA/ACCA/CIMA designation.
- Previous experience managing key stakeholders to demonstrate effective communication skills and relationship building.
- A strong contact network and willingness to grow that to broaden the client opportunities available to the wider Cooper Parry team.
- Experience of team management demonstrating the ability to grow a team and create a positive collaborative environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong presentation and organisational skills required.
