About the role…

Looking to start your Audit career in Summer 2025? Are you curious and inquisitive? Do you enjoy asking questions and working out how things tick?

Whether you have just completed your A Levels, your Degree or just had some time out – our pathway that can help you work towards being a qualified accountant!

Our Audit teams are based at either our East or West Midlands offices. As an Audit Trainee, you will assist the audit team in the management and delivery of statutory audit for a variety of our clients.

The start date for this role will be 26th August

Interviews will take place on W/C 4th August

  • If you are a graduate our minimum requirement would be a completed degree and having gained a minimum of 3 A Levels or equivalent with grades BBC (with a minimum of one A Level in numerical or business-related subjects)
  • If you are a school leaver our minimum requirement would be to have completed a minimum of 3 A Levels or equivalent with grades BBC (with a minimum of one A Level in numerical or business-related subjects)

  • Have great attention to detail, with a passion for numbers and a knack for following processes
  • Possess great communication skills, can build rapport and are comfortable approaching clients
  • Can adapt to changing priorities and work in different teams
  • Able to multitask – processing data, chasing information and prioritising your own workload
  • Are excited about Audit and driven to succeed in the role and qualification

About the day to day…

  • Detailed review and documentation of client information (invoices, bank statements, payroll reports, transactions in the year)
  • Assess the accuracy and reliability of client information and participate in client year end stocktake attendance (could be on weekends/around Christmas)
  • Daily communication with various members of client finance teams to understand their systems and information
  • Assist in preparing financial statements in our audit software
  • Play a key part in meeting client deadlines, which can sometimes be quite tight!
  • Working in small teams undertaking financial testing contributing your part to the audit of the company\’s financial statements

Alongside the day-to-day, you will also study for your ACA Chartered Accountant Qualification through attending college courses and on the job training.

The pathway to qualification takes around 3 years if you\’re a Graduate – or 4 years as a School Leaver – and you\’ll be supported along the way by your colleagues, Managers and our dedicated Student Support Manager.
