Are you a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) looking for your next challenge? Do you love finding solutions to problems and adding value? Our Audit team in Manchester are growing, and we’re currently seeking an Assistant Manager to join them on their journey.

You will be working with Managers to ensure that all assignments achieve the firm’s objectives in terms of client service and quality control, whilst being completed in a commercial and efficient manner. You’ll get stuck into a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including:
- Take ownership of the day-to-day conduct of audit fieldwork, the drafting of the financial statements, tax computations and management letters for all assignments allocated.
- Foster and maintain good working relationships between our audit team and the client’s employees.
- Assist in the preparation of audit planning material.
- Ensure that you are fully briefed on the requirements of the audit, including any special factors, to ensure full efficiency from the first day of audit fieldwork.
- Ensure that your assistants are fully briefed on the areas of work allocated to them.
- Supervise the work of the assistants.
- Carry out the audit procedures allocated to you and monitor overall progress.
- Resolve auditing and accounting queries to the extent that you feel able to do so.
- Make suggestions for amendments to the audit approach as well as improvements for client procedures.
- Facilitate the completion of the job by ensuring appropriate procedures are complied with.

- Have the ability to work away at client premises in various locations.
- Be an excellent communicator at all levels.

- Have proven experience managing the fieldwork team.
- Lead by example and instil a sense of professionalism in the audit team.
- Maintain objectivity, professionalism and independence in client relationships.
