Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment have been engaged by our E&P client to source an Asset Accountant on a contract basis until the end of the year. This role will be based in Aberdeen on a hybrid basis (three days office/two days home) with flexible working and a competitive day rate.

You will be responsible for providing Finance and JV Accounting support to the portfolio of Operated / Non-Operated assets. The role will provide day-to-day business support for budget holders.

The Opportunity

  • Support delivery of monthly JV accounting for allocated assets per the month end timetable, including cost reporting and forecasting against budget.
  • Support the monthly reporting processes on assigned assets, preparing material as required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the current year’s financial information into the corporate planning and liquidity process.
  • Process Operated or Non-Operated JV billings in line with JOA requirements.
  • Where relevant, ensure that budget holders are supported via robust cost control processes, working alongside the Cost Control and Planning teams where applicable.
  • Attend Committee Meetings and FinComs on behalf of the company.
  • Support the AFE process for relevant assets including maintenance of AFE register and ensuring adherence to delegation of authority.
  • Provide other business support as required, including satisfying all JOA Finance requirements.

Background and Experience

  • Previous experience of joint venture accounting in an E&P company.
  • Experience of SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Motivated, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company.
  • Part qualified accountant or relevant accounting experience.
