We are delighted to be working with a diverse agri-business, west of Perth, to recruit for a Finance Manager to join their team. This is a newly created job opportunity, created to enhance financial reporting and month-end analysis within the business, supporting decision making of the business owners. You'll work closely with a highly experienced Bookkeeper and a wider admin and operations team, supporting a variety of businesses across farming, property, forestry and estate management. This role is envisaged to be a part-time position, 4 days per week or reduced hours across 5 days, all negotiable for the right person.
As the most senior finance professional in the business, your role will include:
- Maintaining accurate financial records across multiple legal entities and enterprises
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts
- Leading month-end processes including journals, balance sheet reconciliations and checks
- Preparing annual budgets and cash flow forecasts with the Estate Manager
- Monitoring budgets and tracking across entities and business areas
- Managing cash flow in a business with significant working capital, machinery investment and seasonal swings
- Leading monthly finance meetings with the Estate Manager and owners
- Experienced in cost control techniques to enhance organisational profitability
In addition to the core finance role, you will work to enhance controls and strengthen the financial processes of the business and will be heavily involved in any future systems or accountancy software upgrades.
The successful candidate will have strong experience in financial and management accounting, perhaps from a practice background or proven experience in an industry role. Ideally you will have experience in an estates or agri-business environment but certainly working in a small-to medium sized business.
You will have/be:
- Confident, hands-on experience producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts
- Experience of cashflow management
- A strong grounding in financial accounting and control processes
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and someone who is calm under pressure
Hours: As this is a new role, it is envisaged that this will be a circa 25 hours per week role and the successful candidate could work over 3, 4 or 5 days, to be agreed as suits both parties. There is flexibility on this and the client is open to discussion.
