Join a High-Performing Payroll Team
Our client, a well-established and fast-paced FMCG organisation based in Glasgow, is seeking an experienced UK Payroll Specialist to join their busy payroll function. Working within a friendly and collaborative team, you'll play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while delivering an excellent payroll service across the business.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised payroll professional who enjoys working in a high-volume environment and wants to be part of a supportive team where colleagues genuinely work well together.
Essential Requirements
Previous payroll experience is essential.
Unfortunately, applications from candidates without payroll experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-end processing of UK payrolls on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Calculating salaries, overtime, bonuses, commissions and statutory payments.
- Processing starters, leavers and employee changes.
- Managing payroll deductions including tax, National Insurance, pensions and salary sacrifice schemes.
- Administering statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP.
- Ensuring payroll compliance with HMRC legislation and current payroll regulations.
- Responding to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Reconciling payroll reports and validating payroll data prior to processing.
- Supporting pension administration and auto-enrolment requirements.
- Maintaining accurate employee records and payroll documentation.
- Producing payroll reports for management and finance teams.
- Assisting with year-end payroll processes, including P60s and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Supporting payroll audits and continuous process improvements.
About You
- Proven experience working within a payroll environment.
- Good understanding of HMRC payroll legislation and statutory payments.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines within a busy payroll department.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working with payroll systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Team player with a proactive and positive approach.
