Our client is a leading onshore and offshore drilling, engineering and technology company looking to source two experienced tax professionals! Operating internationally, this company has an outstanding reputation and offers an enviable culture and an attractive package.

Overview of the Role

Reporting to the Head of Tax and working closely with the divisional Finance teams, the International Tax Manager is responsible for the provision of tax support to various countries within the Eastern Hemisphere business. Responsible for compliance management and review for the overseas operations across multiple jurisdictions as well as planning advice as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day responsibility for managing tax issues relating to the various Eastern Hemisphere entities (including UK and Germany) and associated branches.
  • Manage and support tax audits, providing guidance to local teams and ensuring accurate and appropriate disclosure is made to the tax authorities.
  • Manage, maintain and report tax risks for allocated entities.
  • Review tax returns for allocated entities to ensure technical accuracy and consistency with Group policy (compliance is outsourced).
  • Review quarterly and annual tax packs to ensure these are accurate and reflected in the local / Group accounts.
  • Review tax payments.
  • Ensure that relevant intercompany agreements are in place to support transactions.
  • Ensure that relevant local transfer pricing documentation is in place and filed.
  • Support other team members in areas such as year-end accounting, VAT, payroll taxes.
  • Review bids and provide tax input into contract pricing and contractual terms.
  • Support the Head of Tax on other projects as required.

Background and Experience:

  • A solid understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements is essential.
  • Experience of working in a similar industry role with responsibility for the tax compliance, reporting and planning.
  • Recognised Tax Qualification.
  • Knowledge/experience of taxation across a range of countries.
  • Experience of IFRS (and possibly US GAAP) tax reporting.
