The Role
This hugely successful global organisation is seeking an experienced Group Tax Manager to take responsibility for global corporate tax compliance and reporting, while supporting the Tax Director across international tax advisory, governance, process improvement, and strategic projects. This is a Glasgow-based role with flexible remote working, with an expectation of one day per month travelling to Aberdeen for team collaboration and key stakeholder meetings. The role will work closely with Finance teams, external advisers, and senior stakeholders across the business to ensure tax obligations are managed accurately, efficiently, and proactively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee global corporate income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage external tax advisers and work with local Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely filings.
- Lead annual and interim tax provisions, including current and deferred tax under IFRS.
- Coordinate tax reporting and disclosures for statutory and Group accounts.
- Provide tax advice on tenders, compliance, reorganisations, and business activities, particularly across the UK and Europe.
- Support UK Finance with VAT and payroll tax matters.
- Manage transfer pricing, intercompany documentation, master files, local files, and year-end true-ups.
- Maintain effective tax controls, governance, and risk management.
- Lead or support tax audits and enquiries across relevant jurisdictions.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to improve, automate, and streamline tax processes.
- Support M&A, restructuring, financing, and other strategic projects as required.
- Undertake additional international tax projects as directed by the Tax Director.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant post-qualified experience in corporate tax.
- Degree qualified in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent Accountancy professional qualification.
- Strong international tax experience, gained within a Top 10 practice or multinational business.
- Experience across corporate tax compliance and tax accounting/reporting.
- Good knowledge of IFRS, including current and deferred tax.
- Experience managing external advisers and working across multiple jurisdictions.
- Understanding of transfer pricing and intercompany taxation.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercially focused with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach to process improvement, risk management, and problem solving.
