A global organisation is seeking an experienced Global Purchase to Pay (P2P) Transformation Lead to drive the strategic transformation of its end-to-end P2P landscape. This is not a process management role. It is a high-impact transformation leadership position, responsible for reshaping how P2P operates globally through process redesign, standardisation, technology, automation, data and operating model change.

You will own the global P2P transformation agenda, define the future-state vision and lead complex change across Finance, Procurement, Technology, Shared Services and business stakeholders. You will have significant influence over how the organisation designs, implements and continuously improves its global P2P capability.

Based in Glasgow, the role operates on a hybrid basis, with three days per week in the office and two working from home.

The Role

As Global P2P Transformation Lead, you will be the senior transformation owner for the P2P process, taking responsibility for moving the organisation from its current-state environment towards a standardised, digitally enabled and scalable global P2P operating model. You will lead transformation from strategy through to implementation, ensuring that process, people, technology, data and governance are aligned to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Defining the global P2P transformation strategy, roadmap and future-state vision
  • Owning the design and implementation of the global P2P target operating model
  • Leading end-to-end transformation across requisitioning, purchasing, supplier management, invoicing, payments and related processes
  • Driving global process standardisation, eliminating unnecessary regional variation and complexity
  • Identifying opportunities for automation, digitisation, AI and workflow optimisation
  • Leading major P2P transformation programmes from business case through to implementation and benefits realisation
  • Acting as the global business process owner for ERP transformation, upgrades and technology-enabled change
  • Partnering with Technology teams on ERP, P2P platforms, automation and digital solutions
  • Establishing transformation governance, prioritisation frameworks, KPIs and benefits tracking
  • Using data and process insight to identify inefficiencies, control weaknesses, cost opportunities and performance improvements
  • Leading change across Finance, Procurement, Shared Services and business operations
  • Building senior stakeholder alignment and influencing decisions across a complex global matrix
  • Ensuring transformation delivers sustainable improvements rather than one-off process changes
  • Embedding continuous improvement into the future-state P2P operating model

Transformation Focus

The successful candidate will be expected to bring a transformation-first mindset, challenging existing ways of working rather than simply optimising the current process. The agenda will include:

  • Standardisation – creating globally consistent processes, policies and ways of working.
  • Simplification – removing unnecessary steps, manual intervention, duplication and process complexity.
  • Digitalisation & Automation – increasing touchless processing and leveraging technology to improve efficiency, control and user experience.
  • Operating Model Transformation – shaping the interaction between Finance, Procurement, Shared Services, Technology and the wider business.
  • Data & Performance – using P2P data, process analytics and KPIs to drive evidence-based transformation and measurable outcomes.
  • ERP & Technology Change – ensuring P2P requirements are embedded into major technology and finance transformation programmes.
  • Change & Adoption – ensuring new processes and technologies are successfully adopted and deliver sustainable business benefits.

About You

You will be a Senior PTP transformation leader, Global Process Owner or finance transformation professional with a strong track record of delivering complex, international change. You will ideally bring:

  • Proven experience leading large-scale P2P transformation programmes
  • Strong experience designing and implementing global target operating models
  • A track record of delivering measurable improvements through standardisation, automation and process redesign
  • Experience working across large, multi-country, matrix or shared-service organisations
  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end P2P lifecycle and its interaction with Finance and Procurement
  • Hands-on experience with ERP-led transformation, ideally SAP, Oracle or comparable platforms
  • Experience translating strategy into transformation roadmaps and delivering through to implementation
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, with an understanding of transformation business cases and benefits realisation
  • The ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead change across organisational boundaries
  • A strong understanding of governance, controls, compliance and risk within P2P
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the confidence to challenge established processes and ways of working

What Will Set You Apart

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate that they have:

  • Transformed a fragmented P2P environment into a standardised global model
  • Delivered significant levels of automation or touchless processing
  • Led P2P transformation alongside major ERP or finance transformation programmes
  • Established or redesigned global process ownership and governance
  • Delivered measurable improvements in cost, cycle time, compliance, control and user experience
  • Successfully managed transformation across multiple countries, functions and stakeholder groups

What's on Offer

Permanent, senior transformation role with global scope and visibility. Opportunity to define and deliver a significant P2P transformation agenda. Direct influence over future-state processes, operating model and technology. Exposure to major global finance and digital transformation programmes.
