Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment are engaged with a longstanding client to source a Tax Accountant. This staff position will join an international business with a high-performing, first-class tax team where mentorship and development are offered. This is an excellent opportunity for a part qualified or newly qualified corporate tax professional to work with a knowledgeable and experienced tax team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting:
- Preparation of UK companies tax returns on AlphaTax
- Preparation of divisional tax reporting and accounting and statutory accounts tax disclosures
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Overview of compliance in non-UK jurisdictions (assurance)
- Adhere to Tax strategy and policy
- Ensure SAO compliance including audits and preparation of documentation
- Preparation of PSA calculations and ensure returns compliant and minimising costs to the business
- Approve relocation expenditure in accordance with HMRC guidance and collate for inclusion in P11D/PSA submissions
- Support Tax Team, ensuring companies comply with global transfer pricing policies and supply requested information
- Advise the business on the correct treatment of VAT for both sales and purchases
- Ensure VAT Control schedules are completed for all material contracts
- Assist with employment tax queries from the business to provide advice to relevant entities ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all taxes
- Act as central point of review and control for any systems changes impacting tax
- Continuous review of processes to identify opportunities for improvements
- Build relationships with operations, Commercial and HR to ensure they seek tax advice where required
- Support compliance with Facilitation of Tax Evasion legislation, working with the business to operate practical controls
- Ensure compliance with IR35 guidelines, reviewing assessments completed by contractors
- Support business with indirect tax compliance and advisory (training can be provided where required)
Background and Experience:
- Qualified or part qualified: ICAS / ACCA / CTA / ATT (or equivalent)
- Good general UK tax knowledge (corporation tax, VAT, employment tax)
- Tax experience in practice or industry (oil & gas services experience desirable)
