Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment (formerly Hutcheon Mearns Ltd) is delighted to be partnering with a leading organisation in Dundee, to recruit a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a key position with a high level of interaction with non-finance stakeholders, providing financial advice and insight on budgets, forecasts and monthly financial reporting. This is a fast-paced environment which would suit an individual with experience and/or a desire to work in a sizeable organisation with career development and progression routes.
This is a step into a business partnering and management accounting role which will see you supporting the wider organisation to drive value and financial insight. Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting senior stakeholders in various departments with financial insight and decision support
- Managing budgets, forecasts and financial performance for these areas (supported by Senior Management Accountant/ Finance Manager)
- Month-end reporting, particularly accruals, prepayments and journals
- Identifying risks and driving financial control and governance
- Producing clear, user-friendly reporting for non-finance audiences
- Supporting business cases, service developments and investment decisions by providing financial analysis and reports as required
- Contributing to the preparation of annual accounts
- Supporting external and internal audit processes
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members
The successful candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills including the ability to explain accounting concepts to non-finance budget holders. You will have an inquisitive mindset and instead of just reporting the numbers, you will analyse/interrogate them to provide context and meaning. You will have experience of budgeting, forecasting and accruals/prepayments reporting and have experience of month-end reporting. You may be working towards your professional accountancy qualification or have a degree + suitable experience. Equally you may be a qualified Accountant looking for a career move with excellent terms and conditions.
Benefits and Remuneration:
- Competitive salary £43,000 - £45,000
- Pension: ~11% employee / 20.9% employer contribution
- Annual Leave: 27 days + 8 public holidays (rising to 33 days with service)
- Flexibility: 36-hour week with flexi-time and flexible working hours
- Hybrid Working: Office-based initially (first 6 months), moving to c.1 day WFH per week thereafter
