You will work closely with a Senior Risk Manager, supporting the ownership, deployment, and continuous improvement of risk management processes across a major delivery programme, helping to ensure effective governance, robust controls, and forward-looking insight.

About the Programme

The programme involves the development, construction, operation and eventual decommissioning of a large-scale nuclear energy asset, designed to provide long-term, low-carbon electricity generation for the UK. Delivered as a regulated utility, the project benefits from strong governance, established delivery models, and a mature supply chain, offering a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of UK infrastructure delivery.

  • Exposure to advanced project controls and risk management practices in a regulated environment
  • The chance to develop your capability across cost, schedule and integrated quantitative risk analysis
  • A collaborative PMO environment focused on continuous improvement and best practice
  • Opportunities to coach and support junior team members as the function grows

You’ll

  • Support and deputise for the Senior Risk Manager within a major capital delivery programme
  • Operate and support Integrated Project Controls (Risk) processes
  • Facilitate and coordinate risk activities including EAC updates, ERR preparation and Integrated QRAs
  • Independently facilitate risk workshops across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Deliver Cost and Schedule QRAs, integrating with wider project controls and finance processes
  • Support progress reporting, including monthly risk dashboards, forecasts to complete and variance analysis
  • Provide insight into delivery performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure risk activities are delivered efficiently in line with governance, calendars and deadlines
  • Potentially coach and line manage Assistant Risk Managers, Graduates or Apprentices

Essential

  • Experience working in a large-scale project or programme environment
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to independently lead risk workshops
  • Proven experience delivering quantitative risk analysis (cost and schedule)
  • Ability to engage confidently with a wide range of technical, project and corporate stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of risk management within complex delivery environments

Desirable

  • Broader project management or project controls experience
  • Experience in capital-intensive, regulated or major infrastructure sectors (e.g. energy, utilities, transport)
  • Risk management or relevant technical qualifications
  • Experience working client-side, contractor-side or within consultancy
