We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Risk Manager to join the Project Controls function on one of the UK’s most significant major infrastructure and energy programmes. This role sits within the Project Management Office (PMO) and will support a large, complex, capital delivery programme operating within a highly regulated environment. You will work closely with a Senior Risk Manager, supporting the ownership, deployment, and continuous improvement of risk management processes across a major delivery programme, helping to ensure effective governance, robust controls, and forward-looking insight.
About the Programme
The programme involves the development, construction, operation and eventual decommissioning of a large-scale nuclear energy asset, designed to provide long-term, low-carbon electricity generation for the UK. Delivered as a regulated utility, the project benefits from strong governance, established delivery models, and a mature supply chain, offering a rare opportunity to work at the forefront of UK infrastructure delivery.

You’ll
- Support and deputise for the Senior Risk Manager within a major capital delivery programme
- Operate and support Integrated Project Controls (Risk) processes
- Facilitate and coordinate risk activities including EAC updates, ERR preparation and Integrated QRAs
- Independently facilitate risk workshops across multi-disciplinary teams
- Deliver Cost and Schedule QRAs, integrating with wider project controls and finance processes
- Support progress reporting, including monthly risk dashboards, forecasts to complete and variance analysis
- Provide insight into delivery performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure risk activities are delivered efficiently in line with governance, calendars and deadlines
- Potentially coach and line manage Assistant Risk Managers, Graduates or Apprentices
We’re looking for:
Essential
- Experience working in a large-scale project or programme environment
- Strong facilitation skills with the ability to independently lead risk workshops
- Proven experience delivering quantitative risk analysis (cost and schedule)
- Ability to engage confidently with a wide range of technical, project and corporate stakeholders
- Strong understanding of risk management within complex delivery environments
Desirable
- Broader project management or project controls experience
- Experience in capital-intensive, regulated or major infrastructure sectors (e.g. energy, utilities, transport)
- Risk management or relevant technical qualifications
- Experience working client-side, contractor-side or within consultancy
