About the role
We are currently seeking an experienced Check Estimate and Deep Dive Trend Lead to join a dynamic, award-winning team. This role will support one of the most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes in the UK today, providing structured cost assurance, estimate review and trend analysis across a highly regulated, technically complex environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the review and assurance of check estimates across the Programme, ensuring cost information is robust, evidence-based and aligned to agreed governance requirements.
- Undertake deep dive trend analysis to identify cost movements, emerging issues, risks and opportunities across key areas of programme delivery.
- Support the collation, interpretation and challenge of cost and estimate information in accordance with Cost Management Policy and Procedures.
- Work closely with project controls, commercial and delivery teams to provide clear insight on estimate variance, trend drivers and cost performance.
- Provide assurance and review of Contractor Cost submissions, with the ability to challenge information where required to support realistic project updates and informed decision making.
Essential Qualifications
- Ability to communicate estimate, cost and trend information clearly to peers/managers.
- Good attention to detail and skilled in interpreting and analysing cost data.
- Experience of identifying, analysing, and solving problems.
- Strong understanding/working knowledge of cost estimating, cost assurance and trend analysis.
- Experienced in working within Project Controls in a Major Programme environment.
- Strong understanding/working knowledge of Cost engineering/forecasting tools (such as PRISM/ EcoSys/ Cobra).
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, forms of contracts and construction generally.
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialised instruction or practical experience.
- Knowledge of risk / schedule functions and understanding of interface with cost.
- Educated to professional standard and membership of an appropriate body and to degree level or equivalent.
