We are currently seeking an experienced Cost Manager to join our dynamic award-winning team. Our client is delivering one of the most complex and high-profile infrastructure programmes in the UK today. This major nuclear infrastructure programme is entering a critical phase of delivery, supporting the development and construction of one of the UK’s most significant energy projects.
As a Cost Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting robust cost management across a technically complex and highly regulated environment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant programme, driving value, ensuring commercial rigour, and supporting the successful delivery of a landmark infrastructure project. Nuclear sector experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.

You'll:
- Support the Cost Lead in driving integrated cost control practices across the programme.
- Collaborate with other Project Controls disciplines and support functions to ensure aligned project delivery.
- Work closely with stakeholders, contractors, and delivery teams to ensure consistent cost management practices.
Cost Management & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate cost forecasts and actuals within the financial control system (EcoSys).
- Support monthly cost reporting cycles including Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP), Earned Value Analysis, and Estimates at Completion (EAC).
- Ensure all changes are reflected accurately within budgets and forecasts.
- Review and integrate estimates from Tier 1 contractors and suppliers.
Analysis & Insight:
- Conduct cost performance analysis and identify areas of risk or opportunity.
- Ensure earned value techniques are correctly implemented across the programme.
- Support the development and optimisation of cost reporting systems.
We’re looking for:
Essential:- 5+ years’ experience within a cost management, commercial, or project controls environment.
- Strong understanding of cost management methodologies and earned value analysis.
- Experience working within engineering, procurement, and construction project environments.
- High-level analytical and numerical ability with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with cost management tools such as EcoSys or similar systems.
- Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contract frameworks.
- Commercially astute with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working on major infrastructure or highly regulated programmes.
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or risk tools such as ARM.
- Previous experience in the nuclear sector.
- Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Accounting or related discipline (or equivalent project experience).
- Chartered or working towards chartered status preferred.
- Proven track record in cost management within a complex project environment.
