We are currently seeking an experienced Project Control Manager to join our dynamic, award-winning team, supporting a major aviation infrastructure project based in London. This is a key leadership role responsible for establishing and managing the project controls capability across a complex, safety-critical programme. You will play a central role in enabling informed decision-making, ensuring robust governance, and integrating cost, schedule, risk, and performance reporting across the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Establishing and managing the project controls capability for a major aviation programme, including people, processes, procedures, and systems.
- Providing clear interpretation of performance data within monthly reporting, enabling timely and informed decision-making by senior leadership teams.
- Establishing, maintaining, and controlling the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Leading the production and assurance of monthly KPI and progress reporting across time, cost, risk, quality, and performance.
- Implementing and maintaining effective project governance, controls processes, and systems throughout the project lifecycle.
- Managing and coordinating the project controls function across the supply chain, ensuring consistency and alignment.
- Integrating all project controls disciplines, including planning, cost management, risk, quality, change control, and reporting.
- Providing assurance of data quality and ensuring compliance with PMO policies, processes, and standards.
- Supporting stakeholder engagement across client, consultant, and contractor teams in a highly regulated aviation environment.
Qualifications
- Significant professional experience operating as a Project Controls Manager or Programme Controls Manager on large, complex construction or infrastructure programmes.
- Experience working in aviation or other highly regulated environments (e.g. rail, nuclear, defence, highways).
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Strong facilitation skills, including leading multi-disciplinary workshops to identify, manage, and mitigate project issues.
- Experience managing and integrating project controls disciplines, including risk, planning, cost, change control, document control, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams of highly skilled specialists.
- Strong working knowledge of project controls systems and digital reporting tools.
Desirable
- A recognised Project Management or Project Controls qualification (e.g. APM, PMI, or equivalent).
- Previous experience delivering major aviation or transport infrastructure projects.
