Overview
Leading and developing an engineering team to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable site operations. Working a Panama shift pattern, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day engineering activities, ensuring maintenance tasks are planned, prioritised, and delivered effectively. Managing both proactive and reactive maintenance using the CMMS (AGILITY), overseeing contractors, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability and availability. A key part of the role is developing your team, managing the inventory, leading process improvement projects, and planning major equipment overhauls. Flexibility is essential, as you may be required to cover other Engineering Team Leaders or deputise for the Maintenance Manager when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and motivate an engineering shift team
- Plan and resource maintenance activities (planned and reactive) via CMMS
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering processes
- Manage contractors and ensure compliance with site standards
- Monitor workloads, performance, and KPIs, escalating issues where necessary
- Promote a strong health & safety culture and ensure compliance
- Support team development, training, and succession planning
- Manage inventory and spare parts availability
- Lead and support process improvement and reliability projects
- Plan and deliver equipment overhauls and shutdown activities
Site Prioritisation: Strong ability to align engineering activities with site priorities to minimise downtime and maintain quality
Leadership: Proven leadership and communication skills to coordinate teams and collaborate across departments
Adaptability: Able to step into the Maintenance Manager role when required
Team Management: Experience managing performance, engagement, and development
Health & Safety: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
Performance Management: Confident managing shift performance and delivery
