Monday – Friday site based (08:00 – 17:00 flex available) £40,000 + DOE
Looking for a candidate to take ownership of our site maintenance systems and processes, ensuring they remain robust, compliant and capable of supporting world‑class maintenance performance. This is a pivotal role within the Engineering function, supporting both Engineering and Operations teams through effective maintenance planning, CMMS governance, data integrity and continuous improvement initiatives. Acting as the subject matter expert for maintenance systems and planning, you will play a key role in improving asset reliability, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across the site.
Key responsibilities
- Maintenance systems & CMMS ownership
- Own, manage and continuously improve the site CMMS, ensuring high-quality data, effective workflows and system governance.
- Maintain asset registers, PM routines, master data and job plans in line with engineering changes and audit findings.
- Act as the site expert for CMMS usage, providing training and ongoing user support.
- Planning, scheduling & work control
- Lead maintenance planning and scheduling activities for PPMs, ad‑hoc works and project tasks.
- Ensure maintenance workflows are standardised, followed, and continuously improved.
- Coordinate resources, materials and priorities with Engineering, Production and third parties.
- Documentation & compliance
- Create, maintain and control work instructions, SOPs, job plans and technical documentation.
- Maintain audit‑ready engineering records in line with safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Provide administrative control of statutory maintenance activities (e.g. LOLER, LEV, pressure vessels).
- Support internal and external audits in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and Compliance teams.
- Performance & continuous improvement
- Analyse maintenance data, produce KPI reports and live dashboards to support decision‑making.
- Identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities to support equipment reliability and performance.
- Liaise with stores teams to ensure spare parts availability and stock accuracy.
- Stakeholder support
- Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Production Planning, Stores and external contractors.
- Provide administrative and planning support to the Maintenance Manager.
- Support contractor control processes and permit‑to‑work requirements.
Candidate requirements
Essential experience & skills
- Strong engineering or technical background within an industrial or process‑based environment.
- Proven experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as Agility, SAP PM or similar.
- Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce value‑adding reports.
- Ability to write clear, accurate work instructions and job plans.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable knowledge
- Compliance and statutory maintenance knowledge.
- Understanding of contractor control and safe systems of work.
- Experience working in regulated manufacturing or food production environments.
