Sales Accounts Manager role in an energetic and results-driven FMCG company in the UK food manufacturing industry. Play a key role in growing sales of an expanding portfolio of rice and rice-based ingredients, alongside a developing range of functional ingredients focused on healthy eating markets. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused professional who can manage existing customer relationships while identifying and securing new business opportunities. An understanding of food science or ingredient functionality would be highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow sales of the full portfolio of industrial ingredients within designated accounts
- Deliver both existing and future business plans with major food manufacturers
- Provide accurate forecasting and commercial insights to support business planning
- Build strong professional relationships with key customers to enhance the company profile and drive growth
- Work closely with customer NPD teams and internal technical teams to support product development opportunities
- Create and deliver annual sales plans aligned with company objectives
- Maintain full P&L responsibility for the account base, including currency control, cost awareness, and supply chain coordination with procurement teams
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with potential customers
- Liaise with procurement teams and supply partners to ensure effective supply management
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Account Manager within the UK food manufacturing industry
- Proven account management experience with major UK food manufacturers
- Formal training or background in sales and account management
- Understanding of ingredient functionality and technical composition (food science knowledge desirable)
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
- Excellent presentation and communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Ambitious and motivated individual with the drive to win new business and deliver results
- Strong networking, relationship-building, and influencing skills at all levels
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills
