Cooper Lomaz are recruiting a number of remote Residential Conveyancing Title Checkers to join an existing title checking team to provide high quality residential conveyancing overflow title checking and audit support to a firm of busy residential conveyancers. In addition, this role will require the cover of mixed residential conveyancing file loads while colleagues are absent or on leave via an organised cover system administered by the Head of Legal Practice. All team members actively engage and participate in the progression and success of an award-winning specialist conveyancing firm.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Undertake the role with due diligence to ensure that the policies and procedures, all legal requirements and professional standards are honoured, and the best interests of the client.
- To title check and raise enquiries on allocated files and provide forward assistance to the assigned conveyancer where necessary.
- To take responsibility for transactions which have been removed from the standard file load at the discretion of the Head of Legal Practice.
- To provide expert cover when colleagues are on annual leave or absent from work to ensure the continued delivery of our exemplary service to clients and property partners.
- To assist with the auditing of files as and when the Head of Legal Practice requires.
- To support clients and introducers both over the telephone and in written correspondence to provide expert advice and assistance to them in relation to residential property matters in England and Wales.
- To progress transactions and update case records using a case management system in a paper-light environment.
- To ensure that all bills and completion statements are produced accurately and in a timely manner.
- To attend courses relevant to your position and maintain Continuing Professional Development records as appropriate and required.
- To participate in the betterment of the organisation.
