Cooper Lomaz are working with a specialist engineering manufacturer to recruit a Service Engineer to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on engineer who enjoys a mix of site-based technical work, customer interaction, and international travel. Our client designs and builds highly technical slitting and rewinding machinery used across a range of sectors including food and medical manufacturing. You'll play a key role in ensuring equipment is installed, maintained, and performing at its best for customers worldwide.
The Role
This is a varied, split-position role combining installation, commissioning, service, and technical support. Key responsibilities include:
- Installing and commissioning specialist converting equipment at customer sites
- Carrying out preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults efficiently
- Providing on-site and remote technical support to customers
- Delivering operator training to ensure safe and effective machine use
- Supporting spare parts coordination and accurate service documentation
- Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across products and service delivery
- Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times
International travel will form a regular part of the role (approx. 50% once settled).
About You
We're keen to speak with engineers who combine strong technical skills with a customer-focused mindset. You will ideally have:
- An engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical, or related discipline)
- Experience servicing industrial or manufacturing machinery
- Knowledge of slitting/rewinding equipment (highly desirable)
- Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and electrical systems
- The ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working directly with customers
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel in the UK and internationally
