Cooper Lomaz are working with a well‑established and growing business to recruit an Assistant to the Finance Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to step into a broad, hands‑on role with real exposure to management accounts and senior stakeholders. This position is fully site‑based, offering a collaborative working environment where you’ll play a key role in supporting financial operations and ensuring the smooth running of both sales and purchase ledgers.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Site Finance Manager, you will support the preparation of management accounts while taking ownership of key transactional finance processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting month‑end processes including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Managing the sales ledger, including invoicing, credit control, and customer accounts
  • Maintaining the purchase ledger, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and payment runs
  • Assisting with weekly cash flow forecasting and cash postings
  • Managing intercompany recharges and supplier set‑ups in line with group policy
  • Supporting balance sheet reconciliations and monthly reporting
  • Assisting with stock takes, asset verification, and audit processes
  • Producing departmental spend reports and supporting costings
  • Providing cover and support to the Finance Manager when required

  • AAT Level 3 qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience in a similar finance role
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail

  • Confident communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships
  • A positive, adaptable attitude with a willingness to learn
  • Good IT skills and experience with finance systems
