Cooper Lomaz are recruiting for a QA Engineer to join a global payments technology organisation delivering secure digital and SaaS-based payment solutions to financial institutions, fintechs, and enterprise customers internationally. This role will support a key transformation project focused on bringing a previously outsourced platform fully in-house, working closely with both UK and US engineering teams to enhance software quality, testing automation, and delivery capability across a modern Agile environment.

The Role

You will play a key role in developing and improving automated testing capability across business-critical platforms within a highly collaborative engineering team. The environment is heavily focused on continuous improvement, scalable delivery practices, and modern CI/CD principles.

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Building and maintaining automated testing frameworks
  • Developing continuous integration and automated testing pipelines
  • Acceptance, regression, and integration testing
  • Supporting quality assurance across backend services and platform releases
  • Collaborating with distributed development teams across the UK and US
  • Helping transition systems and testing ownership from third-party vendors into the internal engineering function

Required Experience

  • Commercial experience as a QA Engineer / Automation Test Engineer
  • Strong experience writing automated tests within CI/CD environments
  • Experience building and maintaining testing pipelines
  • Strong technical experience with:
  • Python
  • Django
  • Kotlin
  • TeamCity
  • Experience working within Agile software delivery teams
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Desirable Experience

    • API and integration testing
    • Cloud-based environments
    • DevOps tooling and deployment pipelines
    • Experience working on enterprise SaaS or fintech/payment platforms
    • Experience transitioning systems from outsourced vendors to internal teams

    Contract Details

    • Initial 6-month contract
    • Inside IR35
    • Fully remote working
    • Occasional meet-ups in Norfolk
    • Long-term opportunity with potential for permanent transition
    • Requirement to complete a DBS and background check on offer (funded by Cooper Lomaz)
